Interlibrary Loan:

There are two (2) methods of ordering books from other libraries, which is called Interlibrary Loan (ILL):

  1. Using the Online Book Request Form
  2. Using the paper Book Request Form (attached below)

This service is free and delivery time can take up to twelve (12) business days.

You will be notified via e-mail when the book has arrived. If you do not pick up the book within five (5) days a second e-mail will be sent to you reminding you that your book is at the circulation desk. If after ten (10) days after the book has arrived and is not picked up the book will be returned to the lending library and you will be charged $5.00 for each book that is not picked up unless you contact us prior to the ten days.

Books will be delivered to you with the due date on the book and should be returned by the due date to avoid being charged and fines/late fees for the book (see below for details).

Please Note:
We will NOT obtain the following:

  • books that S.C. Williams Library owns
  • reference books
  • textbooks
  • rare or archival materials

For more information on book requests please see the library's ILL Webpage.

Reciprocal Borrowing:

Faculty, graduates and undergraduates can borrow materials from many New Jersey academic libraries through the VALE (Virtual Academic Library Environment) New Jersey reciprocal borrowing agreement. Procedures and forms are available online, but the form must be signed by an authorized staff member of the library. If you need additional assistance please email or contact John Cruz at 201.216.5334.
